Wearing Wigs

November 15th 2009 13:35

Wigs are great for many occasions, whether you're just looking for one for Halloween, or if you want to add something special to your clubbing outfit. Wigs have been popular throughout the ages for both men and women; in the 17th century, it was not uncommon to see men in white, powdered wigs and women with artificial hair.

Today, wigs are made from artificial hair, but there are many places that make wigs from real hair that has been donated. These wigs are very popular among cancer survivors during and after chemo treatments as they're waiting for their hair to grow back.

But, in a lot of cases, wigs are worn for fun. You can find them in a large number of colors that range from natural browns, black, blondes, and reds, but you can also find wigs online in pinks, glues, purples, greens, and other crazy colors.

You can also find them in a variety of hair styles, ranging from long to short, straight to curly, and everything in-between. Wigs are fun and can make a great accessory whether you're looking for a Halloween wig or a clubbing wig, or maybe you just don't want someone to recognize you.

When you wear a wig, you don't have to be someone you're not. You just may be looking for something to add a little spice to things. Some people have a whole dresser-top full of wigs that they interchange on a regular basis. If changes up your look, and it gives people something to look forward to when you walk into a room.

You may want to consider buying multiple wigs in the same hairstyle but in different colors. This makes things fun because it'll look like you've just dyed your hair a different color. Be a blonde one week, pink the next, and then purple, then black. Mix it up.

I love coloured wigs, especially the chin-length bob ones like in that picture. I would never wear a wig that was meant to look natural because unless you pay a few thousand dollars for one made of real hair, they rarely do look like the real deal.

And with a coloured wig, you don't have to wreck your natural hair with dyes. Great post Whitney

Wigs are pretty neat, but I've never found them very comfortable.

Morgan, you're not the only one who likes them for going out and partying. They're pretty popular. Because like you said, wigs do what you're hair won't. And it's a great way to style and color your hair in a way that it won't hurt your own hair.
