What's Up With That Kilt?

Ok, so this isn't all that alternative, but it's not too common, either. Kilts are traditionally worn by Scottish and Celtic (more specifically Gaelic) cultures, typically just the men. They exist in various modern forms, which have been designed towards to historical garment, whether that be a Scottish, Gaelic, Northumbrian, Irish, Welsh, Cornish, or the Contemporary kilt.
The kilt (which is the singular and plural form of the word, according to tradtitionalists) has various designs that are associated with different situations and organizations; IE there is a hunting kilt, Union kilt, bagpiping kilt, Highland dancing kilt, wedding, rugby matches, etc. The contemporary kilt can be formal or casual dress, athletic, hunting, white or blue collar work, or outdoor recreational.
Depending on the occasion, the kilt is typically worn with various accessories such as a belt, jacket, sporran (purse), sgian dubh (small shethed knife worn in the top of the sock), Ghillie Brogues, Kilt pin, and the Kilt sock.
Most kilts are generally made of twill or worsted wool, and can be solid colored or patterned depending on the style that the kilt has been designed after. The Scottish kilt is typically cross-patterned, or plade, while the Irish kilt is typically solid. Now, the contemporary kilt is seen in cotton, demin, leather, and cordoroy.
