Tooth Filing

There are essentially two different ways that you can change the way your teeth look- 1) add caps to your teeth or 2) have them filed and permanently reshaped. Temporary "vampire teeth" may be a cool way to freak your friends and family out, but the alternative of removing part of your teeth is nearly permanent.
A dentist will be the only means that you can safely have your teeth filed, and a dentist will be able to fully explain to you all of the risks, which are minimal.
As for the pain of having your teeth filed, again that is minimal and will have the same effect as having a cavity drilled, which means that an anesthetic is not typically required for the process.
Besides creating an alternative look, having your teeth filed will actually reduce your chance of cavities and other dental complications, which is thought to be the reason that tribal cultures practiced teeth filing.
And, as I mentioned before, the process of teeth filing is nearly permanent. Just remember that just because having your teeth filed is not 100% permanent, it doesn't mean that the reversal process is simple and cheap.
