Scared of Needles, But I Want a Tattoo
September 29th 2009 13:23
There are many people who are scared of needles, but that doesn't mean that you can't get a tattoo if you really want one. Tattoos can really be beautiful pieces of art, and if you have a meaning behind what you want, the tattoo is even more wonderful. But, if you're scared of needles, you have that one big thing holding you back.. The needle.
If you're scared of the pain caused by the needle, you're going to feel it. I'm not going to lie to you in attempts to convince you to get a tattoo even though you have a phobia of needles. You're going to feel some pain, but the amount of pain that you actually feel, will vary on your pain tolerance.
Some people feel as though getting a tattoo is about as painful as slapping a sunburn, whereas others may not even feel it at all, and, then you have the people who say getting a tattoo is one of the most painful experiences they can recall. So, when it comes to asking others about the pain, what your friend or family member felt, may not be what you may feel.
As for the pain caused by the needle, it's going to be there. Just choose an area that generally isn't as painful as other places for your first tattoo. Consider places that are not going to be bony, such as feet, hands, collarbone, hip, etc.
But, as for your fear of the needle, you can still get a tattoo.
* Advice the tattoo artist of your fear.
* Don't look at the equipment when the tattoo artist is pulling everything out and getting everything ready.
* Bring a friend that can hold your hand while getting tattoo. Don't bring an entire pose though.
* Don't look at the tattoo gun while the artist is tattooing you.
Just remember that when you get a tattoo, you really can't see the needle.
