My Nose Piercing Adventure Part 2
December 8th 2007 03:10
Well, it's been less than a week since I got my nose pierced, and I'm having troubles with it again. It falls out every single night. I'm pretty lucky now, in that I usually wake up when it falls out, or that my boyfriend wakes me up (he's absolutely paranoid and checks it every hour).
I've been sleeping with a bandaid over the jewellery to try to stop it coming out, and tonight I had two over it. The bandaids didn't actually come off, but the jewellery managed to come out, and I lost it. I don't know how this is possible - there's no way the stud could have gone through my nose backwards, and I don't see how it could have come out forwards either. I must be the roughest sleeper on the planet!
Fortunately, I have enough ear piercings that it was almost guaranteed that one of my earrings would fit through my nostril piercing. I managed to get one of my sleepers in quickly enough that the hole didn't close up (again).
It doesn't end there, however. I was meant to be working tonight, and of course my work would not be impressed if I showed up with a big ring through my nose, so I tried to put in another nose stud that my boyfriend 'magically' found (I think he was saving it for just such an occasion). However, he bought it at a stall at South Bank's 'Lifestyle Markets', and it wasn't actually long enough to go through my nose, so I had to put the sleeper in yet again. I ended up calling in sick at work and getting hung up on by my boss. (Stupid menial teen jobs, does anyone else know the pain of being a mistreated sixteen year old cashier?)
If anyone has a clue as to how a nose ring can come out in the middle of the night, particularly when covered with bandaids, and how I can stop this happening, please tell me. I'm desperate! I love the nose ring too much to give up on it but this is ridiculous!
