The mohawk is actually an old hair style that traces back to the Mahican tribes. They shaved the sides of their head, leaving a small strip at the top. The mohawk is considered a punk hair style, and you'll see it differently. Typically, though, you will see the sized buzzed, if not shaved clean, with a long center strip from the front of the scalp to the bottom of the hair line. This strip of hair is made to stand straigh up using various hair gels and hair sprays.
The more common type of mohawk is the feathered mohawk. Other types of mohawks include spike mohawks and reverse mohawks.
Typically, it is dyed various colors.
You will offten see the mohawk worn at a great height.
Of all the different styles of hair, the mohawk is a high maintenance style. The longer and higher you want your mohawk, the more maintenance you will have to do. It's not uncommon for at least 20 minutes of styling, brushing, combing, and twisting to occur.
But, once up, mohawks are pretty easy to keep up, so all the work on the front end will pay off in the end.
