Johnny Depp has many tattoos. He got his first tattoo in 1983, which is of a Cherokee Indian chief on his right bicep, which represents his ancestral heritage. Then in 1988, he got his mother's name- Betty Sue- tattooed inside a heard on his left upper arm.
Depp got a tattoo dedicated to Winona Ryder, saying "Winona Forever," but later had it lasered to read "Wino Forever." This tattoo is on his upper right arm.
There is an inverted triangle over the heart with his mother's name, which was originally drawn by Ilya Chasnik, Russian painter.
He has a symbol from 'The Brave' inside his right arm, which he got in 1998. He has another symbol from 'The Brave'- a question mark, tattoed on his right inside leg, above his ankle.
There are three rectangles on his right index finger. The number '3' is on his left hand, which he finds as a special number.
Depp has his daughter's name- Lily Rose- tattooed on his chest, close to his heart.
There is the name- Jack, which is his son's name- and flying birds that represent the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movies that he acted in. This tattoo is on his right forearm.
No one as tattooed as Johnny Depp can get away without a skull and crossbones tattoo, which he has on his outside lower right leg. The crossbones have 'death is certain' tattooed below.
"Silence exile cunning" is tattooed on his arm. This is part of a quote from "A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man" by James Joyce.
There are three hearts tattooed on Depp's upper left arm. It's thought that this represents Vanessa and his two children, which the two hearts touching each other, symbolizing his son and daughter.
There is a sailor on his right arm, which is thought to be Depp's grandfather, and a waitress on the other arm, which is thought to be his mother.
On the front of his left shin, there is a Gonzo fist, which Depp first aired while filming 'Pirates of the Caribbean' in 2010.
There's a skull on the inside of his upper right arm. On the outside of his left arm, there is an "Ogum" tattoo, who is an Afro-American deity. 'Salve' is Portuguese/Latin, meaning "hail" or "save," which is above the 'Ogum.'
There are three small dots on the inside left ankle, which again show the number three. There is a rook tattoo underneath his Salve Ogum tattoo on his left lower arm. And, Depp has a Ching tattoo "wind over heaven" on the back of his arm.
