How to temporarily cover a tattoo?

Depending on where your tattoo is located, it may be simple or a little complex to covering it. For example, if you have a tattoo on your back, your shirt will cover the tattoo; on your legs, pants will cover the tattoo; upper arm, your shirt will cover the tattoo; etc., but if you have a tattoo in a more visible area such as the neck, nape, lower arms, etc. it can be a little harder to cover the tattoo.
Even in some cases of tattoos that you think will be easy to cover, you may still run into problems. I mean, my dad's upper arm tattoos still peak below his t-shirts, button ups, and polos.
And, in some cases, you may actually NEED to cover your tattoo. Although, you may not want to, there are always instances where tattoos just aren't appropriate, such as funerals, interviews, work, etc. And, unless you have a job that doesn't mind visible tattoos, most work places will have you cover them up, and that can be plain bothersome when picking out the perfect outfit. Ha.
The first method that is probably one of the easier methods to temporarily cover smaller tattoos would be by using makeup. Makeup is cheap and simple to apply, but you'll find that even with some smaller tattoos, you may have a problem fully covering the tattoo, especially if it's darker ink, but if anything you can at least lighten the tattoo so that it isn't as noticeable. I would consider a spray on makeup, liquid makeup, or a cream to powder makeup to get the best coverage.
Another method, which is just as simple and cheap, is using bandaids to cover the tattoo. Now, this is just a pain in the butt if you ask me, especially if you have a tattoo where you have hair growth, but using bandaids is a simple means to cover a tattoo. Regular bandaids are great for smaller tattoos, whereas you may have to purchase medical tap to cover larger areas. Just be careful in case you have an allergy to latex, as some medical tapes include latex; in this case, just carefully search for non-latex medical tape.
And, lastly just about the only other thing you can consider is making sure that your clothes covers your tattoos. Bring a jacket if you have arm tattoos, wear shirts that don't reveal chest or back tattoos, turtleneck and collared shirts can hide neck tattoos, consider pants and long skirts and dresses for leg tattoos, and shoes that have full coverage for foot tattoos.
Just remember that if you have a new tattoo, you do NOT want to use makeup or bandaids to cover the tattoo. Makeup will definitely irritate the tattoo, and bandaids or any bandaging will smother the tattoo so that it can't breath. Find alternative methods to cover new and healing tattoos such as clothing, just make sure that it's going to be loose and isn't going to rub the new tattoo.
