Getting a Horizontal Hood Piercing
November 1st 2008 18:01
When I got interested in piercings, the group of piercings that I said I'd never, ever get included female genital piercings. I just couldn't imagine it. Well, I got it, and to tell you the truth, getting my horizontal hood piercing has been the least painful piercing that I've ever gotten. It actually ties to the labret that I had for a few days.
The healing has been great with minimal care and no pain. I've experienced more itching sensations and discomfort when my pants rise up a little to far, but for the most part, my horizontal hood piercing has been the best one yet.
Now, I wouldn't suggest it for everyone, as not all females are built the same, and sometimes you may just have to get the vertical hood piercing, but your body piercer will be able to tell you what would suit your body best. I just really prefer the look of the horizontal hood better, and I am just lucky that my body was perfect for it.
As for any other genital piercings, they're coming. I have the genius idea for a hood ladder, so I'll be adding two more horizontal hood piercings above the original. I may also get a Christina to top it all off, but that will all come in time. For now, I'm just so pleased with the horizontal hood piercing that I finally have, that I'm going to leave it at that.
The healing time for a hood piercing is generally about 4 to 6 weeks, which is about average for most body piercings, but that doesn't mean that you won't be healed in less time. The actual healing time will vary on your body, so you may be fully healed in 2 weeks or 8.
You'll find that most horizontal hood piercings are pierced with a 14 or 12 gauge needle, using a CBR for jewelry. The ball of the CBR will fall directly on your clitoris, which is for the most part the point of the horizontal hood, as it is more than an aesthetically pleasing piercing.
Now, that doesn't mean that everyone will experience stimulation from the hood piercing, but that is the idea behind the piercing. Sometimes, even you'll find that over time you'll loose sensation, but again that doesn't happen to everyone, and you won't know if it'll happen to you until you try it.
After one week of having my horizontal hood piercing, I haven't experienced any special sensations in my lady area, but my piercing is still healing. But, at the same time, this is another downfall of the piercing, is that you may not feel any sensations ever.
Again, you'll have to try it out to see if you're the girl who will become highly aroused while walking down the street or the girl who never feels anything until the piercing is manually played with.
