Eyelid Tattoos

So you may have heard that when a tattoo artist tattoos an eyelid, he puts a spoon under the eyelid... Well, this just isn't true. Eyelid tattoos have a very high risk of complication, which is why you want to make sure that you have a HIGHLY qualified tattoo artist who has been trained at cosmetic tattooing, especially around the eyes.
Eyelid tattoos are similar to permanent makeup tattoos, that are to mimic eyeshadow, or in some cases eyeliner, but that doesn't mean that you have to have a solid color permanent eyeshadow tattoo. You can get designs and shapes, but remember that when the eye bends, it will cause wrinkles in the design.
You will find that there is a very limited spectrum of eyelids tattoos and eyelid tattoo designs, as the eyelid itself is very thin and the tattoo artist must be very adept at controlling his machine.
Plus, you will find that special ink must be used, as some ink pigments can be damaging to the eye, which further limits the design of the eyelid tattoo.
Before the tattoo artist performs the tattoo, he will wash out the eye with a saline rinse, so that the area is cleaned.
The healing time of an eyelid tattoo, can be longer than other tattoos. You may experience swelling and overall healing difficulties, as well as more pain. You may also expericne vision problems for a short while after getting the eyelid tattoo.
Sometimes you will even have to have multiple sessions in order to get the exact desired effect that you are looking for.
