Extreme Corsetting or Corsetry

Corsets are extremely stiff undergarments that are made with laces to help fasten them tightly around the woman's waist area. They used to be worn to help shape the female body, but in many cases they are now worn as outer garments and part of an outfit.

Corsets were once made of whalebone and lace, but the more modern corsets are typically made of latex, rubber, leather, and cloth with metal hooks and accessories surrounding a metal or plastic frame, or brace. They are available in a variety of shapes and styles that can include the hourglass corset, stem waist corset, straight front corset, and an equestrine corset.

Wearing a corset may not seem so extreme, but if taken to an extreme a female can use corsets to help create a semi-permanent affect to the waistline or butt area.

Corsetry does not necessarily use the fashion corsets as they are not made for permant, or semi-permanent shaping. Instead, very strong corsets are used so that they last up to a year in some cases.

But anyway, corsetry basically shapes the body into an hourglass shape. If treated to the extreme, it can cause permanent body structural changes such as bone shifting and redistribution of internal organs. Although, there is an article that I read that says that tight-lacing corsetry does not have damaging effects on the body except reducint stomach capacity by 25% to 75% and lung capacity by 10% to 30%.

When women opt for extreme corsetry, or tight-lacing, they typically keep the same corset for several months, if not 6 months to a year before getting s smaller size. I have seen pictures of people going so far as to lose 8 inches off their waist using the corsetry method. Although, this is definitely not the ideal way to lose inches off your waist.

Although this isn't the modification that I would choose, many people find that where the corset affects blood flow and pressure they can be highly sensual and sexually pleasant.

Personally, I'll stick with corsets as being nothing more than aesthetically pleasing instead of using one to mold my body into a weird shape. Yes, I'll admit it, the affect of corsetry looks plain weird.

Yeah, I have to agree with you on that one, it does look... freakish. At best. Though, I don't think using one every now and then to give you some shape is a bad thing, just when people take it too far and the look like they're getting pinched in half.
